Meet the Team – Yunus GhaziMember News
How did your career in the lubricants industry begin?
Once I had completed my Mechanical Engineering degree in India, I joined Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo in Saudi Arabia as a Sales Engineer. There I had the job of promoting ROCOL products in the western province of the country.
I became a Sales Supervisor and, in 1999, moved to Dubai to join Al Khalij Enterprises, who are also a distributor for ROCOL in the U.A.E.
How long have you worked at ROCOL and what attracted you to the company?
I’m very proud that I have been selling ROCOL products for the entire 28 years of my career. I had another offer from LPS, but I wanted to stay with ROCOL as the range of products is far superior.
ROCOL is a very professional company, who have looked after me and given me brilliant training. I’m lucky to work with such fantastic colleagues.
What are your favourites part of your role?
I love visiting companies in different industries and getting to understand the various product applications. Being able to educate end users, finalising deals with the decision makers and managing the distributors are also incredibly satisfying.
My stint with distributors has given me vast experience and this has helped me understand the needs and requirements of customers and distributors very well.
How do you spend your time outside work?
I’m a passionate cricket fan, so whenever time permits I try to watch a game. Whilst I love all formats of the game, in my eyes, you can’t beat a Test match. I am also a Bollywood movie buff and at weekends I like to watch Hindi movies.
I come from a large and close-knit family, I am the youngest in a brood of seven. I make it a point to talk to my siblings every week. For important occasions such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries and festivals we join together on zoom calls.
Share one fact that your colleagues wouldn’t know about you
Since my job involves travelling I have got into the habit of collecting currency from the countries I have visited.
I have played cricket since my school days and was on the cricket team for Kanoo Commercial in Jeddah.
